Sophomore Leadership Experience
Class of 2018, you’re invited to the Sophomore Leadership Experience! Sign up for a three-day getaway, September 11-13, 2015, in the San Bernardino Mountains at Alpine Meadows.
Develop leadership skills, increase self-awareness, build relationships, and discover next steps through group activities, including a ropes course, evening bond fire, and so much more!
Wondering what SLE is like? Read the blurb from our Spring 2015 Illumine.
Every student took away something different from the trip. “I loved the campfire – talking to people and making new friends,” says Andrew Sheets. Another SLE participant, Jennifer Dallego, agreed. “While I consider myself an open-minded person, I realized I had preconceived notions about people. I met a lot of cool people who I never would have talked to otherwise,” she says.

The program includes a day spent on Low and High Ropes courses and is put on by the Kravis Leadership Institute with support from the Dean of Students Office. KLI will subsidize this program in its entirety.
This year the program will run from September 11-13, 2015. All students selected to participate in the program and cancel after August 1 will need to provide a $125 material fee to KLI. Each fall, incoming sophomores have an opportunity to apply and expand their leadership knowledge during a four-day experiential learning trip, the Sophomore Leadership Experience, held at a camp in the mountains above CMC. The trip includes large and small group activities designed to give students increased self-awareness, facilitate group bonding and develop leadership skills.
