Dan Cahir is the Portfolio Manager of Long Light Capital, a New York-based family office that was founded in 1990 with proceeds from the sale of Ziff Davis Media. Dan and his team manage a value-oriented public equity portfolio as well as selected investments in private companies.
Dan joined Long Light from Ziff Brothers Investments, where he focused on special situations investments in the financial services and healthcare industries. Prior to joining Ziff Brothers, Dan worked at Madrone Capital Partners, the primary investment vehicle for the Walton family. At Madrone, he was the lead analyst for publicly announced investments in Hyatt Hotels, DMB Communities, and Enphase Energy. Dan began his career with Bain & Co., where he advised Fortune 500 and private equity clients on M&A, growth, and efficiency initiatives.
Dan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Claremont McKenna College, where he was awarded Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa, and an MBA from the Harvard Business School, where he graduated with distinction.
In addition to his role as a Kravis Fellow, Dan serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Beekman Terrace, Inc. and is on the Next Generation Committee for Facing History and Ourselves.
